CEISMC INITIATIVES
The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) is a unit of the Division of Lifetime Learning at Georgia Tech. By providing intensive, innovative professional development for practicing teachers, creating highly engaging in-school and extracurricular STEM experiences for K-12 students, and conducting research on effective STEM education practices, we aim to enhance STEM teaching and learning in Georgia and strengthen the pipeline of students ready to excel in STEM fields.
Talent Development
Program
This multi-year initiative provides rising 6th graders with opportunities to engage with Georgia Tech throughout their middle and high school years with a focus on STEM majors and related career pathways.
First-Generation
College Institute
This state-wide summer residential program at Georgia Tech is designed to connect rising 9th though 12th graders with the resources to prepare for college while increasing their exposure to STEM enrichment.
Rural Computer
Science Initiative
This initiative, a collaboration between CEISMC & STEM@GTRI, supports the growth of computer science education in Georgia's rural high schools through interactive modules addressing emerging technologies.
