Talent Development Program

The Talent Development Program at Georgia Tech is a multi-year initiative supporting the Institute's strategic plan by providing middle and high school students with opportunities to access a rigorous advanced STEM curriculum.

Talent Development is a year-round program that begins with Summer Session in early June and 3-4 touchpoint sessions per semester during the school year. These touchpoint sessions serve as a way to continue to build student skills and knowledge in advanced STEM areas.

Program Goals:

  • We aim to engage and accelerate students through rigorous STEM curriculum exposure.
  • We are committed to fostering early advanced math engagement, computer science, and engineering skills, ensuring our students are well-prepared to pursue STEM degrees and their future in STEM.

Examples of programming include:

  • Students learning how to code using Python language.
  • Building computational thinking through early introduction to algebra and app building.
  • Participation in additional academic and extracurricular activities such as STEM-focused field trips (Summer Session), engaging with current Georgia Tech students, and admissions process information sessions led by Georgia Tech's Division of Enrollment Management.

Pre/post-math assessments are used to measure students' understanding and mastery of algebra content, and admissions math challenges are used to determine student math readiness for the program.
