Sandtown Middle School is located at 5400 Campbellton Road in the southwest Atlanta community of Sandtown. The school offers educational programs that help students transition from the general instruction of elementary school to the highly focused instruction in high school.
With a school motto of “Success Nothing Less,” Sandtown utilizes a selection of proven middle school organizational models, including Max Thompson's Learning Focused Schools, Standards-Based Classrooms, Writing Across the Curriculum, and Differentiated Instruction to accommodate all students and their learning styles. The state-of-the-art facility has four computer labs, mobile laptop labs and individual classroom computers. An excellent experienced teaching staff from near and far, superior leadership, and parental involvement enhance the learning community at Sandtown Middle School.
Additionally, the school offers various clubs, intramural sports, and extramural teams to round out students' learning opportunities. Clubs include student government, Beta club, Junior Engineering Technological Society, and numerous others. Students also can take part in connections courses such as band, chorus, dance, orchestra, art, and computer literacy. Sandtown's budding athletes can participate in volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis and track.
