Georgia Tech's Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) is bringing back hands-on STEAM learning opportunities this school year with Saturday programs in Atlanta and Savannah.
As part of the College of Lifetime Learning, CEISMC’s Expanded Learning Programs provide K-12 learners with opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through activities that encourage curiosity and creative problem-solving.
Atlanta Campus
Students in grades 2–5 can attend KIDS Club, while middle and high school students can participate in STEAM Workshops. Both programs connect hands-on STEAM exploration with real-world concepts through engaging activities. This year, CEISMC is also introducing special KIDS Club sessions for kindergarten and first-grade learners in October and November.
"Our STEAM programs ignite curiosity and creativity in students from elementary to high school through collaborative learning experiences, setting them up for success in today’s world," said Program Director Eric Koonce. "The new KIDS Club sessions for our youngest learners reinforce that curiosity and creativity through engaging stories that spark imagination and connect learning to the world around them, and encourage them to explore with confidence.”
All sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon. Fall dates include:
- Sep. 26
- Oct. 31 (with K-1 programming)
- Nov. 14 (with K-1 programming)
- Dec. 5
Spring dates will be announced in late fall.

Savannah Campus
STEAMlabs give students in grades 1-8 the chance to explore different areas of STEAM through experiments, projects, and other hands-on activities. Students work in age-appropriate groups to explore topics that connect science and technology with design, creativity, and problem-solving.
“Each STEAMlab is designed around a central theme that encourages students to explore, create, and discover through hands-on learning experiences," said Senior Program Director Tim Cone. "Whether they are investigating how the human body works, learning how technology can support healthier lives, or tackling creative design challenges, students have opportunities to make connections across STEAM disciplines while exploring new interests."
All sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Dates include:

- Nov. 7
- Feb. 6
- March 20

Whether students are building, designing, experimenting, or creating, these Saturday programs will give them the chance to explore STEAM beyond the traditional classroom. Students can continue discovering new interests through activities planned throughout the year, while developing skills they can use both in school and beyond.
