As Horizons Giving Day approaches on May 13, program director Ebony Minter has set a $5,000 fundraising goal to support high-quality activities that promote academic growth and healthy youth development.

“The Horizons summer program at Georgia Tech gives our scholars the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally," Minter said. “Support from Horizons Giving Day helps us expand our programming and ensures all our scholars can build confidence and achieve their full potential. We are deeply grateful for the Georgia Tech community's generosity and commitment to our mission."

Now in its thirteenth year, the mission of Horizons at Georgia Tech is to build long-term partnerships with scholars, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning.

Each summer, scholars receive instruction in math and reading, participate in problem-based learning activities, explore Atlanta’s cultural landmarks, and learn how to swim at Georgia Tech's Campus Recreation Center. Scholars also receive support through Saturday programming and family engagement events during the academic year.
