Horizons at Georgia Tech is preparing for another year of summer learning on the Atlanta campus for its rising 1st through 9th grade scholars from partner schools. K-12 educators are invited to apply for lead teacher positions, and undergraduate students from University System of Georgia institutions may apply for teacher assistant roles. Program staff are expected to attend pre-training, orientation, and post-planning activities. The four-week experience will take place June 4 through July 2, 2026.
“The staff are the heart of the program as they help our scholars embark on a fun-filled summer of learning, which includes a blend of classroom instruction, enrichment activities, field trips, and swimming,” said Program Director Ebony Minter. “Their commitment and dedication ensures our scholars have a meaningful and successful summer experience.”
Horizons at Georgia Tech, part of Expanded Learning Programs in the College of Lifetime Learning's Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC), is a year-round program. As part of the Horizons Atlanta network, the program shares a mission to expand access to high-quality out-of-school learning for students of limited financial means, supporting the development of the whole child.
This vibrant learning community helps scholars find success in school and set high goals for themselves, including high school graduation and participation in post-secondary educational experiences. Its hallmark summer session engages over 100 scholars through hands-on, project-based learning.
The deadline to apply for all summer positions is April 20, 2026.
