Georgia Tech CEISMC Savannah Campus Saturday STEMlabs is a program for students in 3rd - 12th grade who are interested in discovering and learning more about science, technology, engineering, and math!
Every session is designed to inspire and enrich a student's STEM interest. Fun and learning go hand-in-hand here as everyone is guaranteed 3-hours packed with experiments, hands-on learning, projects, and more!
2019-2020 Program Information
All sessions will run from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and take place at the Georgia Tech Savannah campus. Every other session will cover the same projects so please select the date that works best for your schedule when you register.
Lights, Camera, Action! February 15th
- The film industry is part of what makes Savannah great and these sessions will explore STEM-related technology to help you make your Hollywood debut!
-3rd - 8th Graders: Come use your creativity and logic to create an artistic STEM masterpiece using stop motion video, and get hands-on experience with sensor and coding through micro:bits! All participants will keep their micro:bits to continue the fun at home!
-6th - 12th Graders: Come use your creativity and logic to create video games inspired by your favorite blockbuster movies. This session will use Construct3, an online video game creation software, and all students will receive their games to continue the fun at home on a flash drive.

What is Saturday STEMlabs?
Georgia Tech’s Saturday STEMlabs is a Saturday program designed to enhance and encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. We are excited to offer multiple saturday sessions throughout the year. During each program, students will experience different student-centered activities. Technology and art are a part of this experience, along with problem-solving, challenges, cooperative activities and contests. Both girls and boys will find fun and creative activities in our Saturday sessions.
When is Saturday STEMlabs?
The first two sessions are on October 12th and November 9th, 2019. Additional sessions will be offered during the Winter and Spring. All Saturday STEMlabs will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Drop off begins at 8:30 AM and students must be picked up by 12:30 PM.
How much does it cost to attend?
Each Saturday STEMlabs is $55 per student.
When is payment due?
Payment for Saturday STEMlabs is due when you register. Your registration is not complete without payment, and unfortunately, cannot be processed until we receive it.

What is the waitlist?
Our registration system will automatically generate a wait list when a program is full. If there is availability, the registration system automatically sends an email to the participant at the top of the wait list.
Where does Saturday STEMlabs meet?
Saturday STEMlabs is offered at the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus, 210 Technology Circle Savannah, Georgia 31407. The registration desk will be located in the lobby of the ELAB building.
Could a Saturday STEMlabs session be canceled?
While unlikely, CEISMC reserves the right to cancel a program at any time for any reason. If this should happen, a full refund would be issued. CEISMC also reserves the right to remove students during the program for a number of reasons we will disclose in your acceptance email. Refund for student misconduct or rule violations will not be offered.
Does my student need to bring anything?
Your student will be provided with all materials and supplies needed for success with Saturday STEMlab activities. Snacks will be provided. Please, no soda, candy, or gum. No, personal electronics allowed including e-readers, DS, cell phones, cameras, tablets, and iPads. CEISMC cannot be responsible for these devices.
How are students grouped?
Students are grouped by age and grade.
Who are the program instructors?
Programs are taught by a mixture of Georgia Tech staff/faculty, local college students, and area science and math teachers.
How do I get updates about Saturday STEMlabs?
We post updates and important information on the website. Some information will also be sent via email. EMAIL IS OUR PRIMARY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION. It is of the utmost importance that the parent email address you provide us on your registration is spelled correctly and checked often.
Will I get a refund if I need to cancel?
In order to keep our program as economical as possible, we are not able to offer refunds for any reason.
Can a student with disabilities attend Saturday STEMlabs?
Students with disabilities are welcome in our programs. Please let us know how to best support your student to be successful in the camps either via email, online camp registration form or directly with program staff. Your privacy is important to us and student information will only be shared with staff working with your child.
Do I need a teacher recommendation?
A teacher recommendation is not required to attend any CEISMC programs.
My child will be in kindergarten. Can he or she go to camp?
No. We cannot accept children who are not eight years of age at the time of the program.
Do you have scholarships?
No, to keep our programs as economic as possible, we are not offering scholarship for Saturday STEMlabs.
If I go to one session, can I go to more sessions?
Yes, students can attend sessions throughout the year. However, please note that the projects may repeat during back-to-back sessions. Please reference the top of this page and the registration link to verify that the sessions you are registering for are not the same.
What about lunch? Food allergies?
Lunch is not included, but a snack is provided in this program. No soda, candy, or gum. Please use our registration form to let us know about food allergies and any other special needs your student may have.
What if my student has other special circumstances or needs?
Please let us know how we can help using the registration form.
What about photography?
Unless you tell us differently, Saturday STEMlabs may use photographs of your student in our materials.
What about the weather? Emergencies?
While unlikely, weather and other natural and emergency situations may occur beyond the program's control. If a partial program cancellation is required, no refund will be offered. An example would be a rainy day early dismissal or late start time to accommodate safe traveling of staff, campers, and their families. Any short term unforeseen weather or other emergencies will not be able to be refunded partially in any form.
Could an entire program be canceled?
If a program is not able to be offered at all, a full refund will be offered.
