Make It, Move It Summer Program

Program Overview

Robots, assembly lines, and raw materials are what it takes to make it, and planes, trains, trucks and ships are what it takes to move it! This week-long summer program will have you exploring all the aspects of the supply chain through games, engaging projects, and sessions led by industry experts. We'll finish out the week by assembling your very own Ramblin’ Wreck model car!

2019 Program Information

This program runs for 1-week starting June 17th - 21st, 2019 at the Georgia Tech Savannah Campus. Each day will run from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM and all parents/guardians will be invited to a student showcase on Friday starting at 1:30 PM. Students will need to bring a non-perishable lunch daily.

What is Make It, Move It?

Georgia Tech’s Make It, Move It is a week-long program designed to enhance and encourage curiosity and enthusiasm about supply chain and logistics. Students will explore how items are made and how they are transported around the world. Make It, Move It is for current middle school through 9th-grade students.

When is Make It, Move It?

Make It, Move It is a week-long program hosted the week of June 17 – 21, 2019.

How much does it cost to attend?

Make It, Move It week is $250 per student. 

When is payment due?

Payment for Make It, Move It is due when you register.  Your registration is not complete without payment, and unfortunately, cannot be processed until we receive payment.

How do I register?

All parents must create an account on our official registration site. The registration site is secure and will retain the information that is input by the registrants.

What is the waitlist?

Our registration system will automatically generate a wait list when a week is full. If there is availability within the week, the registration system automatically sends an email to the participant at the top of the wait list.

Where does Make It, Move It meet?

Make It, Move It is offered at the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus, 210 Technology Circle Savannah, Georgia 31407 in ELAB.

Could Make It, Move It be canceled?

While unlikely, CEISMC reserves the right to cancel a program at any time for any reason. If this should happen, a full refund would be issued. CEISMC also reserves the right to remove students during the program week for a number of reasons we will disclose in your acceptance email. Refund for student misconduct or rule violations will not be offered.

Does my student need to bring anything?

Your student will be provided with all materials and supplies needed for success with Make It, Move It activities. They do need to bring a non-perishable lunch, water bottle, and a light jacket. We do not refrigerate lunches. Also, students will not have access to a microwave. Please, no soda, candy, or gum. No, personal electronics allowed including e-readers, DS, cell phones, cameras, tablets, and iPads. CEISMC cannot be responsible for these devices.

How are students grouped?

Students are grouped by age and grade.

Who are the program instructors?

Programs are taught by a mixture of Georgia Tech staff, Georgia Tech students, and area science and math teachers.

How do I get updates about Make It, Move It?

We post updates and important information on our website.  Some information will also be sent via email. EMAIL IS OUR PRIMARY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION. It is of the utmost importance that the parent email address you provide us on your registration is spelled correctly and checked often. 

Will I get a refund if I need to cancel?

In order to keep our program as economical as possible, we are not able to offer refunds for any reason.

Can a student with disabilities attend camp?

Students with disabilities are welcome in our camps. Please let us know how to best support your student to be successful in the camps either via email, online camp registration form or directly with camp staff. Your privacy is important to us and student information will only be shared with staff working with your student.

Do I need a teacher recommendation?

Teacher recommendations are not required to attend camp programs.

Do you have scholarships?

Yes! There are a limited number of scholarships available per week. Information regarding scholarships can be found on the registration site.

If I go to one week, can I go to more sessions?

Make It, Move It is a one-week event during the week of June 17 – 21, 2019.

What about lunch? Food allergies?

Students should plan to bring a non-perishable, (brown bag lunch that does not need refrigeration) healthy lunch that will give them the energy they need to participate in Make It, Move It! No soda, candy, or gum. Please use our registration form to let us know about food allergies and any other special needs your camper may have. Students are not permitted to share/trade lunches due to food allergies.

What if my student has other special circumstances or needs?

Please let us know how we can help using the registration form.

What about photography?

Unless you tell us differently, Make It, Move It, may use photographs of your student in our materials.

What about the weather? Emergencies?

While unlikely, weather and other natural and emergency situations may occur beyond the program's control. If a partial program cancellation is required, no refund will be offered. An example would be a rainy day early dismissal or late start time to accommodate safe traveling of staff, students, and their families. Any short term unforeseen weather or other emergencies will not be able to be refunded partially in any form.
