Bio Summary
Mr. Thompson has been involved in transformational Instructional Technology and Evaluation projects for over 20 years. Since the early 90’s he has been primarily involved in the application and evaluation of computer related technologies applied to instructional applications. In the past he served as the PI for the Georgia Department of Education’s Georgia Learning Connections curriculum and standards web portal. He has also served as the PI on a number of Title IID Technology evaluation projects for GADOE and lead the NSF funded Multimedia in Manufacturing Education research program. He is experienced managing million dollar educational projects and the challenges of transitioning a pilot project into a stable, reliable, institutional asset. His skills include technical hands-on IT experience, instructional technology, evaluation, mobile learning, online learning, and project/team management. He currently serves as the Executive Director for the Horizons@GT summer academic program, Summer PEAKS, and KIDS Club Saturday hands-on learning program at GT.  Finally, Mr. Thompson serves on the TAG-Ed Advisory Board and facilitates the online workshop “ Introduction to Mobile Apps and Tablets” for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC).
